Today, Eftpos NZ announced the launch of Victa, a new family of Android-based payment terminals. The devices accept every way New Zealanders pay today, but are built for where payments are heading next. Victa Portable, the first device in the range, is available now.
What is Victa?
Verifone Victa is the culmination of more than four decades of Verifone payments expertise. The first device available from the range - the Victa Portable - runs on Android 13, is certified to PCI PTS 7.x, and is engineered to deliver exceptional transaction experiences across every payment type in use in New Zealand today, including tap, chip, swipe, digital wallets, BNPL, and dynamic QR-based payments.
But Victa goes far beyond simply taking payments. The device can be updated to accept emerging payment methods and extended with third-party apps. Merchants can deploy off-the-shelf integrations for loyalty, digital wallets, and on-device marketing campaigns. Businesses can also build purpose-built apps tailored to their needs, taking advantage of Victa's hardware capabilities including the built-in barcode scanner and cameras to create fully customised checkout experience.
What makes Victa different from standard EFTPOS
Most EFTPOS terminals run closed, proprietary operating systems.
